Assistant Pastor

The Assistant Pastor of New Birth Worship Center is Reverend Scott Jackson. He was born in Scarborough, GA., and after attending several schools and seminaries in New York entered the AME Zion Church in 1956 as a pastor.
He studied for four years at Hood Theological Seminary Extension School. He also studied for a total of seven years at the following prestigious institutes, where he received his Bachelor of Religious Education and Bachelor of Theology; New York Bible Institute, Bethel Bible University, New York Theological Seminary and College of New Rochelle, and United Christian College.
Reverend Jackson believes “The ministry is not in the pastor’s study. The ministry of God is in the field, out among the people, helping the people who need help and giving faith to those who have little.”
Reverend Jackson resides in Statesville. He was married to the late Lacier Jackson (2014) for over 70 years. He has two daughters, Marlena and Katherine (deceased, September 2017), one son, Taylor and Five grandchildren.
